Location: Situated on the lower slopes of the mountain dominating St. Kitts and next to a small rain forest, Ottley's is surrounded by 35 acres of landscaped tropical gardens. The airport is approximately 15 minutes transfer. Facilities: The former 18th century sugar plantation has been sympathetically restored in keeping with its colonial style. All meals are taken in the Royal Palm restaurant which has become an island favourite. The sun terrace surrounding the spring fed granite tiled swimming pool is the perfect place to unwind. A shuttle bus is available for those who wish to visit the beaches on the island's Caribbean side or to go shopping in the capital, Basseterre. Walking tours can be arranged to explore the nearby rain forest. This hotel has 24 rooms: All are elegantly decorated and are either situated in the Great House or cottages. Deluxe are either in the Stone Cottage in the grounds or in the Great House with louvered windows, one queen size or twin beds, ceiling fan, air conditioning, bath, shower and private terrace. Super Deluxe have the same facilities but are more spacious with one king size bed or two queen size beds, a shared balcony and superb views over the gardens towards the sea. The two Royal Suite Cottages, decorated in traditional Caribbean style, have one king size or twin beds, two large bathrooms with Jacuzzi, a lounge with sofa and a private plunge pool on the private patio. Opinion: Ideally suited to the more discerning traveller seeking a small and intimate hotel providing good cuisine, natural beauty and tranquillity. Superb wedding location and romantic retreat for honeymoon couples. Note: Children under 10 years accepted in Royal Suites only. |
